The Bulette — the infamous "land shark" of D&D lore — is one of the most viscerally satisfying monsters a Dungeon Master can drop onto the table. Built like a living siege engine, this creature combines the bulk of a snapping turtle with the predatory drive of an apex hunter. Its great domed shell, ridged and scarred, sits over a body of pale, leathery muscle, while that hooked beak of a head gapes with rows of serrated flesh — a mouth built not to let go. This sculpt from Monster Atlas captures all of that menace: the hunched, four-legged stance of a beast mid-charge, the shell plating rendered with deep individual segments, and the unsettling pale eye set into that armoured skull.
Three distinct poses are available in this range, each capturing a different angle of the Bulette's brutal silhouette. Encounter Hook:
The farmstead has been silent for three days — the livestock gone, the well collapsed inward, and a trail of fractured earth leading west towards the road the party is travelling. As they pass the first wagon-sized sinkhole, the ground beside the lead adventurer simply drops away, and something enormous and hungry hauls itself into the light.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and base are separate pieces, attached easily with superglue. The decorative base is recommended — some sculpts interact with the base for a more grounded, finished look. Each piece is quality checked before dispatch; minor surface marks from support removal are possible and can be addressed during prep and priming.
