Description

He doesn't knock. He doesn't announce himself. He simply steps out of the shadow with a spiked club and a grin full of fangs — and by then, it's already too late.

This is pose 04 of the Bugbear Smuggler range from Novaminis. Where some bugbears rely on brute force alone, this one has picked up a few tricks from a life spent moving contraband through back alleys and forgotten tunnels. Cloaked in a heavy, crudely stitched hood and leaning into a predatory forward hunch, he looks every inch the criminal enforcer — clawed hand outstretched and spiked club held low, as if deciding which approach will hurt more. The sculpt is loaded with personality: banded leather armour, studded buckles, spiked boots, and a coat of hide and rough-sewn cloth that speaks to a creature who has never once bought anything legally.

Bugbears in D&D 5e are Medium Humanoids with a talent for Surprise Attack, and this sculpt captures that predatory energy completely. Whether he's running muscle for a thieves' guild, blocking the exit of a smuggler's den, or simply ambushing a party that wandered into the wrong district, pose 04's aggressive forward lean and raised weapon make him a compelling presence on the table. He works equally well as a display piece — the level of surface detail in the coat stitching, claw wrappings, and armour plates rewards a careful paint job.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a named bugbear enforcer or recurring villain in an urban or criminal campaign
  • Are building a goblinoid gang, smuggling ring, or thieves' guild encounter
  • Want a goblinoid mini with genuine character rather than generic monster filler
  • Enjoy painting detailed cloth, leather, and hide textures across a large humanoid frame
  • Collect the full Bugbear Smuggler range alongside poses 01, 02, 03, and 05

Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking the Duskfang Syndicate's contraband shipments for two sessions. Tonight they've finally found the warehouse — but as the rogue reaches for the lock, a shape detaches itself from the wall behind them. Seven feet of hooded muscle, a spiked club, and one outstretched claw. The bugbear tilts his head and growls: "Boss said no visitors."
