Not every goblinoid you meet on the road is a straightforward threat — and that's exactly what makes this Bugbear Beggar such a compelling addition to your campaign. Sculpted with remarkable detail, he stands on a wooden peg leg, leaning on a tall walking staff with one gnarled hand outstretched, as if asking for alms. His expression is weathered and suspicious, framed by shaggy fur, small curved horns, and the coarse rope belt of someone who's fallen far but hasn't forgotten their teeth. The texture across his body — matted fur, worn cloth loincloth, bound ankle — gives painters a wealth of surface detail to bring to life.
Whether you play him as a fallen warrior reduced to poverty, a spy planted at the city gates, or a cunning information broker with nothing left to lose, this miniature brings instant character to any urban or wilderness encounter. He works equally well as a tabletop gaming piece and as a display figure on a collector's shelf — the kind of sculpt that tells a story before a single die is rolled.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a distinctive goblinoid NPC that subverts expectations
- Are building city underbelly, roadside, or wilderness encounter scenes
- Want a centrepiece model for a social or intrigue encounter
- Love painting character-rich sculpts with expressive surface texture
- Collect goblinoid miniatures for display alongside their gaming collection
Encounter Hook:
As the party passes through the town's market quarter, a hunched bugbear on a peg leg thrusts out a battered wooden bowl — but his eyes don't track the coin. They track the party's spellcaster. Someone hired this beggar to count magic-users entering the city, and the one he's reporting to has been waiting three days for exactly this kind of news.
