Bruti the Benediction cuts a figure of terrible contradiction. Below the neck: a paladin in full ornate armour, breastplate etched with devotional knotwork, a sun-burst shield at his side, and the bearing of someone who has walked into fire and come out the other side. Above: something else entirely. A vast, writhing mass of parasitic flesh coils up from his helmet's crest like a question he can no longer answer, its feathered tendril arcing overhead with unsettling grace. His face, half-visible beneath the visor, still holds the set jaw of a warrior who hasn't given up — even if what's growing out of him has other ideas.
