The Braxat is a creature of sheer, terrifying mass — a horned, thick-hided giant that exists at the brutal intersection of beast and brute. This sculpt by Monster Atlas captures it mid-advance: hunched forward with deliberate menace, one clawed fist raised and the other dragging a heavy spiked maul along the ground. The textured hide across every inch of the body — roughened plates, coarse skin folds, and bone-hard protrusions along the forearms — speaks to a creature that has survived things that would shatter lesser beings. The horned face carries a low, furious intelligence, and the stance says clearly that it has already decided what happens next. Whether you run it as a solitary territorial predator, the muscle behind a cult of giants, or a rare encounter lurking in the Underdark, this miniature carries genuine table presence.
At 32mm scale, the Braxat reads large and imposing on the battlemap — exactly as it should. The sculpt holds up beautifully whether you base-coat it for gaming use or commit to a full display paint job. This is a miniature that earns its spot both on the table and on the shelf.
A good fit for adventurers who:
- Need a fearsome boss monster or mid-campaign bruiser that commands attention
- Are building encounters in cave systems, ruins, or giant-held territory
- Want a large creature miniature with exceptional surface detail for painting
- Collect display-quality fantasy miniatures from independent sculptors
Encounter Hook:
The party's scout returns pale-faced — the mountain pass they were counting on is blocked, not by a rockslide, but by a Braxat that has made the canyon its den. Three merchants are already dead. Their wagon, unplundered, sits untouched beside the body. Whatever this creature wants, it isn't gold.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The miniature and base are supplied as separate pieces, designed to be attached with superglue — and the base has been sculpted to complement the pose, so the two work best together. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. As with all hand-finished miniatures, minor surface marks are possible; any small imperfections are easily tidied up before painting.
