- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
The Braindead Bulwark is a large-format display bust depicting an undead fighter in a state of grim preservation — a being that has passed far beyond death and yet refuses to be still. The sculpt captures every texture of that existence in extraordinary detail: coarse, fraying cloth wrapped across decomposing plate, a skull half-shrouded in a deep hood, and corroded armour edged with what were once proud ceremonial borders. The decay is not merely cosmetic — it tells a story of a warrior who fell, was called back, and now serves something far darker than honour.
Mounted on an ornate rune-carved plinth with geometric knotwork borders, this bust is as much a centrepiece as it is a sculpt. Painters will find a wealth of texture to work with — rough cloth, pitted bone, eroded metal, and stonework — making it a genuinely engaging project for both intermediate and experienced painters. As a display piece it commands a shelf with quiet menace.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Enjoy painting display busts with rich, varied textures across cloth, bone, and corroded metal
- Are building a dark fantasy or undead-themed collection
- Need visual inspiration for a powerful undead villain, cursed champion, or tragic NPC in their campaign
- Want a statement piece for a shelf, gaming room, or display cabinet
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to recover an artefact from a collapsed mausoleum beneath an old battlefield — but the last mercenary crew who tried never came back. When they descend into the dark, they find the mercenaries are still there, standing in a perfect line, hollow eyes forward. At their head stands the Bulwark: a towering skeletal champion clad in rotting ceremonial armour, the original occupant of the tomb now bound to its defence by a necromantic seal older than the kingdom above it. It does not speak. It simply raises one gauntleted hand.
Details
This is a display bust, scaled for painting and collection rather than standard tabletop combat use. It arrives unpainted and unsupported, printed to a high level of detail suited to a centrepiece-quality display piece. Minor surface imperfections inherent to any resin print process may occasionally occur — these are easily addressed during preparation and painting.
