The Boobrie is one of Scottish folklore's most colourful and underused monsters — a colossal predatory bird that stalks marshlands and loch shores, dragging livestock and the unlucky into the water. In D&D terms, it occupies that rare and satisfying space between the mundane and the monstrous: recognisable as a bird, clearly wrong about its size, and deeply threatening the moment adventurers realise it has noticed them.
