Description

Something ancient and wrong thunders through the jungle canopy — not quite dinosaur, not quite nightmare — and every experienced ranger in the party knows that when the Boneskull Rex roars, you don't fight it, you run.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Boneskull Rex is no ordinary apex predator. This hulking, bipedal reptilian monstrosity combines the raw muscular bulk of a tyrannosaur with the scaly, ridged armour plating of a crocodilian — and atop that broad skull sits a crown of sweeping bone horns and jutting tusks that give the creature its name. The jaws are thrown wide in a full roar, exposing rows of serrated teeth and a set of prominent curving fangs that protrude forward like battering rams. A bony dorsal crest runs back from the crown, and the entire body is covered in exquisitely detailed overlapping scales, from the thick hide of the flanks to the armoured ridges running the length of the tail.

Three variations are available for this sculpt. The first two present the Boneskull Rex in its raw, unridden state — one from a front-on roaring angle that puts those jaws and tusks front and centre, the other from the side to show off the full length of the beast and the sweep of its croc-like tail. The third variation adds a leather saddle strapped across the creature's back, opening up a world of mounted encounter possibilities — a warlord's war-beast, a lizardfolk champion's mount, or a particularly unhinged druid's companion.

The sculpt sits on a Huge base (76.5mm), making it an imposing presence on any D&D or Pathfinder battlemat. The level of surface detail across the scales, claws, and bone growths makes this equally compelling as a painting centrepiece for adventurers who prefer their miniatures on a shelf rather than a grid.

A great choice for adventurers who:

  • Need a formidable beast encounter that isn't just another dragon or owlbear
  • Are running a dinosaur-heavy campaign such as Chult, the Savage Frontier, or a homebrew prehistoric setting
  • Want a war-beast mount for a villain or faction — the saddled variant is ready for a rider
  • Are looking for a centrepiece miniature that rewards careful, detailed painting
  • Collect large-scale fantasy creatures for display as much as for play

Encounter Hook

The lizardfolk warband the party has been tracking for three days suddenly breaks from the treeline in full retreat — and then the Boneskull Rex crashes through behind them, a goblin warchief strapped into the saddle on its back, grinning and pointing directly at the adventurers. Initiative: roll now.
