The Boneskull Rex is a beast that demands the table's full attention the moment it hits the board. This Huge-scale sculpt by Epic Miniatures captures a theropod-like predator unlike anything from a simple bestiary — the body is covered in dense, interlocking scales rendered with extraordinary surface detail across every inch, from the ridge of dorsal spines running down the spine to the thick, muscular tail that sweeps out behind it as a counterbalance to its sheer bulk.
The head is the centrepiece: a frilled, armoured skull crowned with bony protrusions and flanked by a pair of enormous saber-teeth that curve outward with predatory menace. The forearms — stocky and powerfully clawed — are raised in a posture that suggests this creature has already spotted its prey and is about to charge. The heavy, three-toed feet grip the base with a solidity that speaks to the creature's sheer mass. On a 76.5mm Huge base, this miniature commands space on the table the way it should.
Whether you stat it as a reskinned Tyrannosaurus, a unique BBEG creature, or the centrepiece of an encounter in a lost jungle ruin, the Boneskull Rex brings a sense of primal, ancient danger that no standard dinosaur mini quite delivers.
A fine choice for adventurers who:
- Run dinosaur encounters, lost world campaigns, or jungle explorations
- Want a Huge creature that truly looks the part on the table
- Need a memorable BBEG beast for a climactic wilderness encounter
- Paint detailed creature sculpts and want a project that rewards every brushstroke
- Collect display-worthy prehistoric or fantasy beasts
Encounter Hook: The party's tracker has been following the trail of a missing expedition team deep into the Verdant Wastes. They find the camp — shredded tents, scattered equipment, three-toed tracks the size of shields pressed into the mud. Then the tree line erupts. Something enormous has been circling them for the past hour, and it is done waiting. Roll for initiative.
