Description

The tree line erupted as something ancient and enormous reared upright, its horned skull thrown back and its serrated jaws stretched wide in a roar that shook the mud from the riverbank roots.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Boneskull Rex is not a dinosaur — it is something older, meaner, and considerably less interested in letting you escape. Part crocodilian terror, part upright predator, this hulking beast combines the dense, overlapping scale texture of a saltwater croc with the bipedal stance of an apex hunter rearing to strike. Its broad, finned skull sports a crown of backward-swept horns and a pair of sweeping jaw tusks, and its mouth gapes wide in mid-roar, every tooth clearly visible.

The sculpt captures the creature mid-lunge — weight shifted onto its thick hind legs, forelimbs raised with splayed claws, heavy tail sweeping out behind as a counterbalance. The scale detail across the body is remarkable: tight interlocking scales on the underbelly give way to coarser, more heavily textured plating along the back, with a ridge of dorsal spines running from neck to tail tip. This is a creature that rewards a careful paint job — zenithal priming alone will bring the texture to life before a single brush stroke of colour is applied.

Mounted on a Huge 76.5mm base, the Boneskull Rex commands real table presence. Whether you run it as a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Behir variant, a unique BBEG-tier beast, or a completely homebrew predator encountered in a fetid jungle or coastal swamp, it will dominate the encounter mat the moment it hits the table.

This miniature suits adventurers who:

  • Need a large-scale beast encounter that justifies a full-party fight
  • Are running jungle, swamp, or wilderness-heavy campaigns
  • Want a centrepiece display piece that showcases skilled painting techniques
  • Are homebrewing apex predators or ancient reptilian horrors
  • Need a visually distinctive monster that players will remember long after the session ends

Encounter Hook: The party has been tracking a missing trade caravan for three days when they find the wreckage — wagons overturned, cargo scattered, no bodies. Then the Boneskull Rex emerges from the treeline still wearing a wagon wheel around its neck like a collar, apparently unbothered. Initiative.
