The Bone Claw is a Large-base undead horror sculpted with exceptional anatomical menace. Mounted on a 51mm base, this is a creature that commands attention on the table — the kind of encounter piece that makes players sit up straight when the Dungeon Master places it down.
The sculpt captures a skeletal humanoid mid-lunge, robes in dramatic motion around its emaciated frame. Exposed ribcage, elongated fingers tipped with wickedly curved talons, and a snarling skull adorned with short bone horns all contribute to a silhouette that reads instantly as dangerous. The back view reveals a sweeping robed form with one clawed hand extended behind and the other reaching forward — a pose full of coiling, predatory tension.
The detail throughout is striking in its precision: every knuckle of bone, every fold of rotting cloth, every claw tip has been sculpted with care. Whether you paint this as a solo undead assassin, a minion of a lich lord, or a creature dragged from the Shadowfell, the Bone Claw has the presence to anchor an entire encounter.
Its Large base size makes it a natural centrepiece for undead-heavy sessions, and the dynamic pose rewards painters who want to push contrast between bleached bone, dark robes, and the shadows pooling between every rib.
This miniature is a great fit for adventurers who:
- Run undead-heavy campaigns or lairs lorded over by a lich or necromancer
- Need a Large-base threat creature that reads clearly on a crowded tabletop
- Want a painting project with strong textural contrast — bone, cloth, and claw all competing for attention
- Are building a display collection of undead horrors and want something with genuine sculptural drama
- Play or run Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or graveyard-domain encounters
Encounter Hook: The party has been tracking a string of disappearances from a village near the Thornwood — livestock first, then farmhands, now a militia patrol. When they finally push into the barrow mounds at the forest's edge, they find the missing patrol's gear scattered across a frost-rimed chamber floor. From the far corridor, something tall and robed steps forward into their torchlight, fingers spread wide, and it is very clearly not in a hurry.
