Description

The thunder of bone-rimmed wheels on stone announces the arrival of the dead long before the torchlight reveals them — and by then, it is already too late to run.

  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This Bone Chariot from Great Grimoire is a centrepiece encounter piece that demands attention the moment it hits the table. Each variant features a horned, heavily armoured undead commander riding atop a bone-adorned chariot, pulled by two skeletal horses in full gallop — exposed ribcages, gnashing jaws, and all. The chariot itself is decorated with skulls worked into the wheels and side panels, while the driver gestures with commanding authority, cape billowing behind them. One variant shows the driver armed with a pole weapon and accompanied by a second warrior, making it equally suited as a chariot unit or a named villain's war machine. The level of sculpted detail across the skeletal horses — from individual vertebrae to cracked hooves — makes this a genuinely rewarding piece for painters and display collectors alike.

Whether you field these as the vanguard of a lich's advancing army, a pair of elite Death Knight commanders, or a solo boss encounter barrelling through a besieged village, the Bone Chariot brings momentum and menace to any undead encounter. These are not shambling grave-risen minions — they are the officers of death's cavalry.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Run undead army encounters, siege scenarios, or necromancer boss fights in D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
  • Want a large-scale undead centrepiece that holds its own on both the gaming table and the display shelf
  • Are building a Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or undead-themed campaign with commanding visual set pieces
  • Enjoy painting skeletal textures, bone tones, and dark armour with rich weathering detail
  • Collect ambitious multi-part miniatures from independent fantasy sculptors

Encounter Hook:
As the party crests the hill overlooking the valley, they see the funeral procession below — a column of skeletal soldiers flanking two bone chariots moving at pace toward the besieged town. The lead chariot's commander raises a hand and the column halts. Then, slowly, the horned figure turns its hollow gaze directly toward the party. Initiative rolls, please.

Each Bone Chariot is printed at 32mm scale (please note the original sculpt is designed at 35mm — if you'd prefer a specific scale adjustment, send us a message and we'll do our best to accommodate). A plain black base is included as standard; a decorative base is also available — if you select this option, please include a note with your preferred base style from the three available options. Bases are supplied unattached and can be fixed easily with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed prior to dispatch, though minor marks from the printing process can occasionally occur and are easily tidied up before priming.
