Blue Jay by La Louve 3D
Description
In the tangled heart of the Feywild, where mushrooms grow as tall as halflings and the borders between realms blur like watercolour, the Blue Jay stands as sentinel and herald — armoured, proud, and bearing a banner that snaps in a wind that blows from no natural direction.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This is no ordinary bird. The Blue Jay is a fey creature of fierce intelligence and territorial authority, clad in riveted armour strapped across its breast with rope and cord, a sheathed blade at its side, and a banner pole gripped in one taloned foot. The sculpt captures every individual feather, the alert crested head, and the mushroom-scattered woodland base on which it perches — talons curled over bark and stone as if claiming the entire clearing as its domain. It is the kind of NPC that makes players hesitate: is this a beast, a messenger, or something far older and stranger?
The sculpt reads brilliantly from every angle — front, side, and rear all reward a second look, with the flowing banner, the rope-bound harness, and the detailed wing feathering each adding character. Whether painted in vivid blue and white or left in bare grey for a ghostly fey aesthetic, this piece carries presence on the table and on the shelf alike.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run Feywild campaigns or forest encounters with unusual NPCs
- Need a memorable fey messenger, warden, or minor lord for their D&D 5e game
- Want a conversation-starting display piece with exceptional sculptural detail
- Are building a Kenku, Aarakocra, or bird-folk themed warband or collection
- Enjoy painting feathered textures and nature-themed bases
Encounter Hook:
The party has been wandering the Murmuring Wood for three hours when they spot it — perched on a mossy stump at the fork in the path, banner snapping in still air, watching them with one unblinking eye. It has been there since before they arrived. It knows which path leads home. It has not yet decided whether to tell them.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are separate pieces — a small amount of glue is all that's needed to assemble them. The base is designed to interact with the model's pose and we recommend including it for the full effect. Minor marks or imperfections from the printing process are possible; these are easily tidied up before priming. The model comes fully cured and ready for paint or display as-is.
