Description
The sailors called it Snippy — a name that seemed almost charming until the first claw came down through the hull timbers like a blade through wet parchment.

- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
From DM Stash's Blood on the Sails collection comes Snippy, the Bladeclaw Crab — a coastal horror built for encounters that leave the party genuinely unsettled. This is no ordinary giant crab. The sculpt captures something far more threatening: a massive crustacean with one oversized, serrated crusher claw raised high and a second curved blade-claw poised to strike, its chitinous carapace bristling with ridges, spines, and battle-worn texture that speaks to decades of territorial violence on the sea floor. The compound stalked eye adds an unsettling intelligence to the pose, and the rocky shoreline base grounds the whole piece in a specific, evocative world.
Two sculpt variants are available in this range — this listing features Snippy in full predatory display, claws spread and ready. The second variant offers a lower, more compact defensive posture across a broken stone base. Both reward paint work that leans into wet, briny, deep-sea colour palettes, and both are equally at home on a gaming table or a display shelf.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run nautical or coastal D&D campaigns and need a memorable aquatic encounter
- Want a distinct boss monster for low-to-mid level parties venturing near the shore
- Collect creature miniatures from the Blood on the Sails setting
- Enjoy painting monstrous creatures with complex organic texture and layered armour
Encounter Hook:
The fishing village of Saltmere has been paying a tithe of livestock to something in the cove for three seasons — but when the party arrives, the cove is silent, the tide is out, and the rocks are carved with fresh claw marks three feet deep. Something has moved closer to shore.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are separate pieces designed to be attached with superglue — the sculpt interacts with the base in a way that rewards keeping them together. Minor print marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before priming. Supplied unpainted and ready for your brush.
