Few sights stop a warband in its tracks quite like a great cat in armour. This Black Panther Mount from Epic Miniatures captures the animal mid-stalk — weight shifted forward onto powerful forelegs, jaws parted in a snarl that leaves little room for negotiation. The sculpt communicates coiled tension: this is a beast one breath away from a lunge.
The panther wears a segmented armour plate along its spine, buckled into a harness that also carries a fitted saddle — the whole rig suggesting a creature long accustomed to carrying a rider into battle. The detailing across the armour panels and the leather strapping is crisp and characterful, rewarding careful brushwork whether you favour natural tawny hides or the midnight black the name implies. The musculature beneath is rendered with real care, fur texture visible across the flanks and shoulders.
Mounted on a large 51mm oval base, this miniature has genuine presence on the table. It works brilliantly as a mount for a drow cavalry officer, an elven ranger, or an exotic mercenary commander — and it serves equally well as a dangerous independent predator let loose on an unsuspecting party.
