Description

Even a wyrmling of the black flight carries the full weight of its lineage — acid-scarred ambition, hollow eyes burning with spite, and the patience to wait for exactly the right moment to ruin someone's day.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is pose 01 of our Black Dragon Wyrmling range by Novaminis. The sculpt captures a young black dragon in a grounded, confrontational stance — wings spread wide and membrane-textured with fine venation, tail coiling behind a spiked, scaled body. The head is the real centrepiece: a crown of jagged horns, hollow cheekbones, and a jaw pulled back into something between a snarl and a grin. Every claw is individually rendered, and the chest musculature gives this wyrmling a physicality that belies its small size on the table.

Black dragons are among the cruellest of chromatic dragonkind — territorial, sadistic, and drawn to fetid swamps and ruined places where they can rule unopposed. A wyrmling is already dangerous, already cunning, and already convinced it deserves everything it can take. This miniature communicates all of that before a single die is rolled. Equally at home as a low-level boss encounter or a display piece on a shelf, it rewards a painter willing to go deep on contrast and texture.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a mid-tier dragon encounter that hits harder than its CR suggests
  • Are building a swamp, ruin, or underdark lair environment on the tabletop
  • Want a centrepiece creature for a low-to-mid level D&D or TTRPG campaign arc
  • Enjoy painting detailed creatures with strong anatomical and textural variety
  • Collect chromatic dragon miniatures for display

Encounter Hook:
The party was hired to clear a nest of giant frogs from a collapsed watchtower — but the frogs have been gone for weeks. Something else has moved in, and the bones stacked neatly in the corner are far too large to belong to anything that should be here.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be affixed with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed prior to dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks or surface imperfections can occasionally occur and are easily cleaned up before priming. Fully cured and ready for painting or use straight from the box.

The cats have used their bonus action to look judgmental. As always, it was very effective.
