The Vrock is one of the Abyss's most visceral predators: part vulture, part humanoid nightmare, and entirely without mercy. This sculpt from Yasashii Kyojin Studio captures the creature mid-descent — great feathered wings thrown open in a threat display, muscular limbs braced to lunge, and that distinctive hooked beak parted as if already tasting the air for prey. Every primary feather, every scaled talon, every ridge of that hunched, corded body is rendered with the kind of detail that rewards a careful brush. At 49mm tall, this is a miniature that dominates a table.
Whether you're running a demonic incursion through a corrupted temple, staging a Underdark ambush for high-level adventurers, or simply building a display shelf that commands attention, this Vrock delivers genuine presence. It works equally well as a game piece and as a collector's display miniature — paint it in the sickly greens and brackish browns of the Abyss, or go full dramatic contrast with deep blacks and bone whites.
Brilliant for adventurers who:
- Need a formidable CR 9 encounter piece for D&D 5e or Pathfinder
- Are running demonic invasion arcs, Abyssal gate campaigns, or corrupted cult storylines
- Want a centrepiece miniature that draws eyes across the table
- Enjoy painting large-scale creatures with expressive feather and muscle texture
- Collect fantasy monster miniatures for display
Encounter Hook:
The party follows the cultists' trail to an abandoned observatory on the cliffs — and finds them already dead, strewn across their own ritual circle. A single set of enormous talon-prints leads to the edge of the roof. Whatever they summoned didn't stay to serve; it tore them apart and took to the sky. It's been circling the nearest village for three days. The locals think it's a bad omen. It isn't an omen. It's hungry.
