Mimics are the dungeon master's most beloved tool for paranoia, and this Bed Mimic from Mia Kay M3DM takes that premise to a gloriously domestic extreme. Where a chest mimic at least makes some narrative sense in a treasure vault, a bed mimic is pure, gleeful cruelty — the kind of twist that makes your players distrust every tavern from that point forward. The sculpt captures the creature mid-reveal: sheets bunched and twisted as the mattress frame shifts, a wide maw erupting from the bedding, tongue lolling over the quilted surface. It's horrifying in exactly the right way.

Also included is a second variation — a neatly made, undisturbed four-poster bed, two pillows sitting innocently at the headboard. Use it as standard scatter terrain until the moment your players least expect it, then swap in the mimic version for a reveal they will absolutely not see coming.

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the Amber Lantern Inn, road-worn and desperate for a long rest. The innkeeper is charming, the stew is hot, and the rooms are spotless. In the night, the fighter — who always insists on sleeping with their armour on — hears a low, wet sound from the bard's room. When they open the door, the bed is empty. The bard is not on the floor. The bed, however, is very much awake.

Both sculpts are printed at 32mm scale. The mimic version features the full creature reveal with distorted bedding and open maw; the tidy bed version comes with neatly detailed pillows and a clean quilted mattress — both superb for tabletop gaming and display alike. Supports are removed prior to dispatch; minor marks from the print process are possible and can be cleaned up easily before priming.
