A bear trap is one of those small details that transforms a good encounter into a memorable one. Tucked into the corner of a dungeon room, half-buried along a woodland trail, or scattered across the floor of a poacher's hideout, this piece of scatter terrain does exactly what the best props do — it makes players slow down, look twice, and ask questions. That hesitation is where the drama lives.

Sculpted with crisp, angular teeth and a well-detailed trigger plate and spring mechanism, this bear trap reads clearly at the table without losing its menace. Whether you're dressing a Ranger's campsite, laying out a goblin ambush corridor, or building a diorama centred on a hunters' outpost, this piece earns its place on the board. Works equally well as a display prop for collectors who want their shelves to tell a story.

Particularly suited to adventurers who:

  • Want scatter terrain that rewards players who search the room
  • Run wilderness, forest, dungeon, or hunter-themed encounters
  • Use objective markers, trap tokens, or environmental hazards at the table
  • Build dioramas or display setups and want believable environmental details
  • Need a prop to mark a Ranger's Favoured Terrain or a Rogue's prepared ambush

Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a poacher operating out of the King's Forest. When they finally locate his camp, they find it ringed with bear traps — some set, some already sprung, one still holding something none of them expected. A Perception check DC 14 to spot the hidden ones. A Dexterity saving throw DC 13 for anyone who doesn't.

Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base is unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Ready for priming and painting, or use straight off the shelf as a neutral resin prop. Some minor marks from support removal are possible; these are easily tidied up and are part of the nature of hand-finished pieces.
