Battering Ram 01 by Novaminis
Description
The gates of the castle hold — for now — but the grinding creak of iron-studded wheels signals that the besieging force has brought something far worse than ladders.

This is the first sculpt in Novaminis' Battering Ram range, and it's a striking piece of siege warfare terrain. The ram is housed beneath a gabled, tile-detailed roof — the kind of sturdy mobile shelter that protected soldiers from archer fire while they drove the ram home. The suspended ram head hangs from chains inside the open frame, beautifully detailed with wrapped bindings and a sculpted beast-face striking head. Six spiked, carved wheels carry the whole structure forward, each one reinforced with iron studs and decorative knotwork. The sides of the carriage feature interlocking timber planks with iron banding, arrow-slit gaps, and ornamental woodworking that gives the piece real character beyond a simple war machine. Every angle rewards a closer look — this is terrain with genuine personality.
As a large-scale terrain piece it functions brilliantly as a centrepiece for siege encounters, a battlefield objective, or a diorama anchor. It's equally at home on a display shelf as it is rolling across a battle map.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Are running siege warfare or castle assault encounters in D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
- Want a large, characterful terrain centrepiece rather than generic scatter
- Are building a medieval or dark fantasy diorama or display collection
- Need a battlefield objective — hold the ram, destroy the ram, capture the ram
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired by the besieged lord to stop the ram before it reaches the gatehouse — but as they close in through the chaos of battle, they realise the ram's operator is no ordinary soldier. The chains holding the ram head aren't iron. They're bone. And the carved face on the ram head just moved.
Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base is unattached and can be fixed with glue. Ready for priming and painting straight from the box, or use as-is for immediate table use. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor surface marks are possible and can be tidied up before painting.
