The Basilisk King is no ordinary gaze-beast. This sculpt depicts a creature that has grown beyond the limits of its kin — a hulking, many-limbed predator with a broad armoured torso studded with bulbous sensory organs, a tail lined with serrated spines, and a crown of long, feathered horns that twist skyward like the broken antlers of something ancient and wrong. The jaw hangs open, revealing rows of jagged teeth, and the low crouch of its stance speaks not of fear but of coiled readiness — a creature that has learned patience, because nothing that crosses its path survives long enough to teach it otherwise.
Available in two distinct sculpts — a frontal rearing pose that dominates the table, and a lower crouching profile that fills the eye with scale and menace — this is the kind of BBEG centrepiece that earns a gasp when it hits the mat. Both sculpts feature a richly detailed rocky scenic base that grounds the Basilisk King in a ruined, desolate landscape, making either equally compelling as a display piece or a combat encounter focal point.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a BBEG that commands the room the moment it appears on the table
- Are building a Underdark lair, ruined wastes, or monster-den encounter
- Want a large-scale creature that rewards careful painting — the sensory orbs, layered scales, and horn detail are a joy to bring to colour
- Collect large-format display miniatures with genuine sculptural presence
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to recover a merchant's petrified brother from somewhere in the blighted wastes east of the city. They find him — and seventeen others, all mid-stride, all frozen in expressions of pure terror — arranged in a rough circle around a nest of cracked boulders. The Basilisk King is already watching. It has been watching since they crossed the ridge.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale by default, though as a BBEG sculpt this creature runs generously large — as any Basilisk King should. If you'd like scale adjustments, just get in touch and we'll sort it out. The mini arrives in separate parts requiring assembly with super glue. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork or striking straight from the base coat.
