The basilisk is one of the most iconic threats a Dungeon Master can place between an adventuring party and their next long rest. This sculpt by Yasashii Kyojin Studio captures the creature at its most unsettling — low to the ground, massively built, every inch of its broad back and flanks bristling with overlapping spines and blade-like dorsal ridges. The curled, spined tail is raised and ready, and the thick, clawed feet suggest something that doesn't chase its prey so much as wait for them to look at it. It's a creature that communicates danger through sheer presence.
The detail across the hide — the layered folds of armoured skin, the clusters of shorter spines along the legs and belly, the heavy jowled head — rewards careful painting and holds washes exceptionally well.
