Barrowghast by Monster Atlas
Description
It does not hunger for flesh or gold — it hungers for the warmth it no longer possesses, and it will tear apart the living to find it.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The Barrowghast is a creature of ruinous necrotic power, a once-living giant twisted beyond recognition by dark ritual or prolonged exposure to death-saturated earth. Its grey, pustule-riddled hide stretches over a frame of grotesque muscle, while its abdomen has ruptured entirely — loops of exposed innards hang loose, animated by the same foul energy that keeps this thing walking. Most unnerving of all are its hands: wreathed in coiling violet wraith-flame, they reach forward with the slow, relentless certainty of something that does not need to hurry.
This sculpt by Monster Atlas captures every nauseating detail — the sunken, glowering eyes, the bared teeth locked in a permanent snarl, the lumpen, disease-marked torso, and those terrible hands trailing necrotic fire. It presents beautifully across all three available poses, each offering a slightly different silhouette and stance. Whether you're fielding it as a boss encounter or adding it to a display shelf of horrors, this is a miniature that earns its place at the table.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Need a commanding undead boss or cursed guardian for their campaign
- Are building a necromancer's warband or graveyard encounter
- Want a centrepiece horror for Ravenloft, Curse of Strahd, or homebrew dark fantasy settings
- Collect and paint high-detail creature miniatures for display
Encounter Hook:
The village barrow has been sealed for three generations — but last night the stone slab was pushed outward from beneath, and the mud trail leading away from it ends at the church door. Whatever came out has been inside for hours. The party can hear it breathing.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and base are separate pieces — attach with superglue for best results. The decorative base complements the sculpt directly, so we recommend using it as intended. Arrives ready for priming and painting, or use it straight from the base in all its grey, unnerving glory.
