Barricade 02 by Novaminis
Description
The militia threw up whatever they could find — split logs, fence posts, broken carts — and called it a defence line. It wouldn't hold forever. But then, it didn't need to.

This is Barricade 02 from Novaminis, the second piece in their wooden barricade scatter terrain range. Where Barricade 01 presents a more organised defensive line, this variant leans into the chaos of improvised fortification — a jumble of rough-hewn stakes and crossed timbers, some leaning at sharp angles, others half-collapsed, all of them carved with the kind of grain, knot, and splinter detail that paints tell beautifully. The sculpt reads instantly as battlefield detritus: something erected in a hurry by defenders who knew time was not on their side.
Whether you're running a siege encounter, a village skirmish, a dungeon corridor ambush, or a war-torn wilderness scene, this barricade adds immediate visual narrative to any battle map. It works equally well as a painted display piece or straight off the primer as a utility terrain piece — the silhouette is distinctive enough to read clearly at the table even unpainted.
Brilliant for adventurers who:
- Need scatter terrain that tells a story without explanation
- Run siege, skirmish, or wartime encounters on their battle maps
- Want barricades that look built by desperate hands, not professional engineers
- Are building dioramas or display boards set in war-ravaged settlements
- Enjoy a satisfying paint project with deep wood grain and texture to work into
Encounter Hook:
The players arrive at the village of Ashenmere to find the main road blocked — a ragged barricade of crossed stakes and shattered fence posts thrown up overnight by the remaining townsfolk. Behind it, three frightened militia hold crossbows with shaking hands. In front of it, the tree line is very, very quiet.
Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. Ready for priming and painting, or use straight from the box. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor surface marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up.
