Barrels are the unsung heroes of tabletop world-building. Whether stacked in a dockside warehouse, lining the walls of a shadowy cellar, or scattered across a marketplace ambush, they bring instant life and believability to any encounter. This set from Mia Kay M3DM includes two distinct barrel styles — one with barrels lying on their sides, and one with barrels standing upright — giving Dungeon Masters flexible scatter terrain that works across countless settings.
The sculpts capture the texture of rough-hewn wood grain with iron-riveted banding, exactly the kind of detail that rewards a careful painter and holds its own even straight off the printer. Encounter Hook:
The party are hired to intercept a contraband shipment arriving at the docks at midnight. Three identical rows of barrels line the quayside — but the contact said the goods are hidden in one of them. As the Warlock reaches for the first barrel, a crossbow bolt skips off the cobblestones behind her. Someone already knows they're here.
Each set is scaled to 32mm and comes ready for priming and painting or use straight from the box. Two distinct variants are available — lying barrels and upright barrels — so you can mix and match for the most natural-looking scatter arrangement. As with all our terrain pieces, some minor surface variation is inherent to the process; any small imperfections are easily tidied before painting.
