Description
Deep in the Abyss, where reason dissolves and rage is the only currency, the Barlgura does not walk — it charges, howling, into whatever stands before it.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The Barlgura occupies a particular corner of D&D's demonic bestiary — ape-like and ferocious, draped in shaggy layered fur, crowned with a cluster of jagged horns that erupt from its broad, snarling skull. This is variation 02, which captures the creature mid-charge: one arm raised overhead with clawed fingers splayed, the other pulled back, its weight shifted onto a single foot as if it has just launched itself off a surface. The pose reads as raw, uncontrolled aggression — not a fighter in a stance, but a predator that has already decided the fight is over.
Novaminis have packed genuine texture into this sculpt. The layered fur across the torso and legs catches shadow beautifully, giving painters a clear direction for drybrushing and washes. The exposed skin on the face, hands, and feet has a rougher, warted quality that contrasts well against the fur — a gift for contrast painters and those who enjoy building up glazed tones. The expression is all teeth and fury, the eyes sunken beneath a heavy brow and flanked by curved horns.
This is the kind of miniature that earns a reaction when it lands on the table. Whether you're running a demonic incursion, a Baldur's Gate descent, or simply want a centrepiece brute for your display shelf, the Barlgura 02 delivers presence in abundance.
- Adventurers running Abyssal or demonic campaign arcs who need a mid-tier fiend with genuine menace
- DMs building encounter variety and wanting a second Barlgura pose alongside variation 01
- Painters who love high-contrast textures — shaggy fur, rough skin, and expressive faces
- Collectors drawn to creature sculpts that carry personality beyond the stat block
Encounter Hook: The party has been tracking a missing merchant caravan through the jungle approaches to a ruined temple. They find the wagons overturned and the guards scattered — then hear something large moving through the canopy overhead. A Barlgura has claimed this stretch of road as its hunting ground, and it drops from the trees directly onto the rearmost character, shrieking.
