Description

He doesn't perform for the living — he plays for the dead, and the dead, it seems, are very good listeners.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Mordecai Gravesend is not the sort of bard who entertains at taverns for coin and applause. Perched atop a mound of skulls, long coat draped behind him and top hat tilted just so, he raises a bone flute to his lips with the unhurried confidence of a man who has long since stopped fearing what lurks in the dark. Whether he is a College of Spirits Bard communing with the departed, a Necromancer's herald, or a sinister Ravenloft fixture who knows far too much about everyone in the room — Mordecai arrives with an agenda and leaves with your secrets.

The sculpt captures every detail of this wonderfully grim character: the cascading curls spilling from beneath his tall hat, the laced coat and billowing cloak, and a base piled high with dozens of individually crafted skulls that makes this as much a display piece as a tabletop token. The render images show the model unpainted in raw grey, giving you a clear view of the exceptional surface detail before paint touches it.

A fine addition for adventurers who:

  • Need a charismatic, unsettling NPC bard with genuine menace
  • Are running a Ravenloft, gothic horror, or dark fantasy campaign
  • Want a College of Spirits or College of Whispers Bard player character
  • Are looking for a display piece that holds its own on any shelf

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at a fog-shrouded crossroads to find a lone figure seated atop a cairn of skulls, playing a slow, haunting melody on a flute carved from something that isn't wood. He doesn't acknowledge them — not at first. Then the music stops, and he says, without turning: "I've been expecting you. The last group took a different road. They won't be needing their names any more — but you might find their story useful."

Mordecai Gravesend is printed at 32mm scale. The sculpt comes with a detailed skull-pile integrated base. The model arrives unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork or to display as-is straight from the box. Printed in high-quality resin with supports removed; minor imperfections are possible with complex sculpts but are easily tidied before painting.

Sculpted as part of the Grim Chronicles range by Great Grimoire — visit their page to see more of their work.
