- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
This is no ordinary undead presence. The Banshee Queen is rendered here as a display bust of extraordinary character: a gaunt, skeletal face crowned with an ornate diadem, long hair swept back as though caught mid-wail, and hollow eyes that carry the weight of something ancient and furious. What makes this sculpt truly distinctive is what she holds — a serene female face cradled between her clawed, elongated fingers, as though she has plucked it like a trophy, or perhaps as though she is mourning the self she lost to undeath. The contrast between her rictus grin and the peaceful expression of the face she cradles is quietly unsettling in the best possible way.
As a bust, this piece rewards close attention and careful brushwork. The surface detail across the hollow cheeks, the draped hair, the articulated claws, and the sculpted crown all provide distinct textures to work with — smooth skin against bone, fine hair lines, and the sharp geometry of the diadem. Whether you paint her in pale spectral blues, necrotic greens, or the grey pallor of a wraith risen from cold water, this is a display piece built for a painter who wants a meaningful centrepiece project.
Well suited for adventurers who:
- Want a detailed bust project that rewards advanced painting techniques
- Are building a dark fantasy or undead-themed display collection
- Need a compelling villain or patron figure to inspire their TTRPG campaign
- Are drawn to sculpts that tell a story without a single word of text
Encounter Hook:
The party is hired to retrieve a locket from the ruins of a noble estate — but the estate's former mistress never left. She appears in the candlelight of the great hall, holding the face of the last adventurer who came for the same locket, turning it slowly in her claws and humming a melody no one in the party recognises until the bard makes a History check and goes very pale.
