Every tavern brawl, noble feast, diplomatic summit, or murder mystery needs a table worth fighting over — and this one delivers. Sculpted by Atlanticus Arts, the Banquet Table is a richly detailed scatter terrain piece that transforms any encounter space from a bare grid into a living, breathing environment your players will immediately interact with (and inevitably flip).
The tablecloth drapes in deep, natural folds over a sturdy trestle, while the surface is laden with the kind of spread that would make any innkeeper proud: a roasted bird on a platter, whole pies, bowls of fruit, bread rolls, wedges of cheese, scattered cutlery, ceramic mugs, and a tall stemmed goblet sitting at the centrepiece. Two carved high-backed chairs anchor either end of the table, and a plain wooden bench runs along the near side — enough seating to host a small delegation or the world's most dangerous dinner party.
The level of surface detail is exceptional for scatter terrain — individual plates, stacked dishes, varied food items, and the natural drape of the cloth all reward careful painting. Whether you render it as a rustic tavern spread, a lord's feasting table, or the last supper of a doomed noble house, the sculpt gives painters plenty to work with.
Great for adventurers who:
- Run social encounters, intrigue arcs, or murder mystery sessions
- Want to populate taverns, great halls, or manor dining rooms with convincing set dressing
- Are building a diorama or display scene centred on a feast or gathering
- Enjoy painting atmospheric props with rich surface variety
- DMs who want players to immediately feel the weight of a scene the moment they sit down at the table
Encounter Hook
The Duke has invited the party to dine — a gesture of trust after weeks of difficult negotiations. The table is impeccable: roasted meats, fresh bread, wine in good goblets. But the steward is sweating despite the cold, the Duke's taster declined seconds, and the Rogue just failed a Perception check on the wine. The party has one round to decide whether to eat, accuse, or run — and the table is right there in the middle of it all.
