Ballista 01 by Novaminis
Description
When the gates of the city swung open, it wasn't soldiers that rolled out first — it was the roar of iron and timber, the lion-mouthed war machine that had brought three fortresses to ruin before breakfast.

- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales

This is the Lion Ballista — a fearsome piece of siege artillery mounted on a four-wheeled carriage and crowned with a snarling lion's head carved from what appears to be ancient, grain-worn timber. The sculpt captures every detail of its brutal craft: rope-tensioned torsion wheels at the rear, iron rivets along the frame, a long bolt-track running the full length of the chassis, and those heavy spoked wheels that speak of a weapon built to be dragged across battlefields and set to grim purpose. It's the kind of war machine that tells a story before a single die is rolled.
Whether it's defending a city gate, anchoring a military encampment, or being turned against its former owners by a daring band of adventurers, this piece adds genuine tactical and narrative weight to your table. Equally at home in a siege warfare diorama or as a centrepiece on a display shelf, it's a sculpt that rewards painters who love wood grain, weathered metal, and the fine mechanical detail of fantasy engineering. This is Ballista 01 from Novaminis — the first variation in their ballista range.
Well-suited to adventurers who:
- Run military campaigns, siege scenarios, or large-scale battles
- Want scatter terrain that carries real visual presence on the board
- Are building a war camp, fortress courtyard, or battlefield diorama
- Love painting intricate mechanical and woodwork detail
- Collect fantasy siege weapons for display as well as gaming
Encounter Hook:
The players have infiltrated the enemy encampment and located the Lion Ballista — the weapon responsible for breaching the city's eastern wall. They have four rounds to sabotage it before the night watch returns. The question is: does someone fancy turning it around and using it on the powder store first?
Scaled to 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base ships unattached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin prints, minor marks may occasionally remain and can be tidied up with standard hobby tools.
