The kraken is one of the most feared entities in any ocean — a leviathan of crushing tentacles and ancient malice. This is not that kraken. This is its baby, and it is unbearably endearing. Sculpted in a rounded, chibi style, this little cephalopod sits coiled atop a swirling base, eight tentacles curling dramatically in every direction — and clutched aloft in two of them, triumphantly, is a single d6. Whether that die was stolen, found, or gifted by some doomed sailor is a question only your campaign can answer.
The sculpt captures that rare combination of adorable and vaguely ominous that makes for truly memorable tabletop moments. The cone-shaped mantle, large expressive eyes, and curling tentacles give it bags of personality, while the dynamic pose — tentacles fanned wide, die raised overhead — means it reads clearly from across the table. Paint it in inky deep-ocean hues of violet and teal, or go pale and bioluminescent; either way, this little creature will draw eyes the moment it hits the mat.
This miniature works brilliantly as a familiar, a curiosity, a baby monster encounter, or a beloved mascot for a sea-faring campaign. It also makes an exceptional desk companion or painting project for adventurers who simply appreciate a well-crafted chibi sculpt.
A great choice for adventurers who:
- Run aquatic or pirate campaigns featuring kraken lore
- Want an unusual warlock familiar or creature companion on the table
- Love chibi-style sculpts alongside their more serious minis
- Are looking for a genuinely charming display piece or gift for a fellow tabletop fan
- Need a memorable NPC creature that will get everyone at the table talking
Encounter Hook: The party's ship drops anchor in a sheltered cove when the lookout spots something small clinging to the anchor chain — a baby kraken no bigger than a halfling's fist, clutching a six-sided die etched with symbols none of the crew recognise. It regards the adventurers with huge, unblinking eyes. Somewhere in the deep below, something enormous stirs. Whatever that die means, it was counting on being found.
