Description

Deep in the frozen wastes, where blizzards howl and the ice groans underfoot, the tiniest of magical creatures waddles forth — staff in flipper, crown of ice on brow, and absolutely no concept of personal danger.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Baby Frost Penguin is one of those sculpts that stops people mid-session. Round-bodied and rounder-faced, this little creature sits contentedly with its eyes half-closed in a blissful squint, a tuft of icy spines crowning its head and a star-tipped staff tucked under one flipper. Its fluffy chest feathers are rendered with charming texture, and the whole piece radiates the kind of cheerful magical menace that only something this small and this confident can manage.

Whether you picture it as a warlock's familiar, a beloved pet of a frost giant's child, a minor spirit of winter magic, or simply the world's most unlikely dungeon denizen, the Baby Frost Penguin brings warmth — of the character variety — to the coldest corners of any campaign. Paint it in icy blues and whites for a traditional frost creature look, or go full arcane with purples and golds on that star-topped staff to hint at something altogether more powerful than it appears.

Brilliant for adventurers who:

  • Run arctic or frozen-tundra campaigns and want creatures with genuine character
  • Are looking for a memorable warlock familiar or animal companion miniature
  • Want a whimsical centrepiece mini that will get noticed on the display shelf
  • Enjoy painting expressive, personality-packed sculpts with satisfying texture work
  • Are building out a collection of magical beasts and winter creatures

Encounter Hook

The party has been trudging across the Frostmere Plateau for two days when they hear it — a single melodic chirp cutting through the wind. Perched atop a collapsed waystone, a tiny penguin-shaped creature regards them with half-lidded eyes, tapping its star-tipped staff against the ice. The locals call it a Rimeling. They also say it only appears before the glacier shifts. The glacier has not shifted in forty years. It shifted this morning.
