This wyrmling is caught mid-exploration — low to the ground, head tilted, one wing half-raised as though it has just noticed something deeply interesting (or deeply edible). Its expression sits somewhere between curiosity and the dawning certainty that it owns everything it can see. The sculpt captures that particular draconic energy: compact, spiky, and already radiating the quiet arrogance of a predator who simply hasn't grown into it yet.
The detail across the body is exceptional — overlapping scales shift in texture from the rougher, stubbier hide of the belly to the sharper dorsal spines running along the spine and neck. The wings, though folded, show fine membrane detailing and the claw structure at the leading edge. The head is the real centrepiece: heavy-browed, slightly scowling, with distinct eye ridges and a jaw that suggests it has already learned to use teeth first and ask questions never.
This is a wyrmling that would work brilliantly as a young dragon encounter, a druid's companion, a sorcerer's inherited charge, or simply the adorable-but-lethal creature that wandered out of the lair while its very large parent is elsewhere. Paint it in earthy tones for a brown or copper dragon, go bold with reds or greens, or try something unusual — the sculpt holds paint beautifully at this level of detail.
A great choice for adventurers who:
- Need a wyrmling or young dragon for a lair-based encounter
- Are running a campaign featuring dragon eggs, dragonborn culture, or draconic patrons
- Want a characterful creature for a druid's Wild Companion or sorcerer's familiar narrative
- Collect dragon miniatures and want a well-sculpted small-scale addition
- Love a miniature with genuine personality baked into the pose
Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to retrieve a stolen egg from a mountain nest — but when they arrive, the egg has already hatched. The wyrmling is sitting in the middle of the empty nest, staring at them with the unsettling calm of something that has decided they are now responsible for it. The actual dragon parent is three hours away. The wyrmling is hungry. And it has already bitten the rogue.
