Description

Small enough to underestimate, old enough to turn a careless adventurer to stone — the baby cockatrice has arrived, and it is absolutely not as harmless as it looks.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Don't let the wide eyes and round, fluffy body fool you. This chibi-style sculpt captures the baby cockatrice in all its deceptively adorable menace — owl-headed, scaled-tailed, taloned feet planted firmly on a textured rocky base, one small wing half-spread as if it's already sizing up who to petrify first. The layered feather detail across its chest and the sharp little dorsal spines running down its tail make this a genuinely characterful piece, whether you're using it to terrorise low-level adventurers or simply placing it on a shelf where it can stare at people disapprovingly.

In D&D 5e, cockatrices are CR 1/2 beasts with a bite that can turn creatures to stone — making a nest of babies an unsettling discovery for any scouting party. This sculpt leans into the creature's strange, chimeric nature: part bird, part reptile, entirely too confident for something its size. It works brilliantly as a wandering monster token, a druid's cursed familiar, or the centrepiece of a nest-based encounter your players won't see coming.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Run wilderness or cave encounters and want memorable low-CR threats
  • Need a creature that's visually distinctive on the battlemat
  • Are building a beast collection for sandbox or hex-crawl campaigns
  • Paint chibi-style sculpts and want strong surface detail to work with
  • Collect fantasy miniatures for display alongside their rulebooks

Encounter Hook:
The ranger crouches beside a broken egg — pale, leathery, the size of a melon — and calls the others over. Three more lie scattered across the cave floor. From somewhere deeper in the dark comes a sound like rustling feathers, and then a second, and then several more at once.
