Few landmarks in Slavic-inspired fantasy carry the same uncanny weight as Baba Yaga's walking hut. This sculpt by La Louve 3D captures every iconic detail: the scaled fish-tile roof with its pointed chimney, the rough-hewn stonework walls, the arched wooden door and circular window, and those unmistakable taloned chicken legs rising from scaled, clawed feet. The model is modular — the roof lifts away to reveal a hollow interior, making it genuinely usable as an encounter space rather than just set dressing. Whether your Baba Yaga is a sinister villain, an ambiguous hag, or a chaotic neutral force of ancient woodland magic, this hut sets the scene before a single die is rolled.
The legs are sculpted with remarkable anatomical character — scaly, feathered at the knee, and clawed at the toe — giving the structure genuine menace even when it's standing still. As a display piece, it reads immediately as something mythological and alive. As terrain, it commands the table.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run Slavic-mythology or Eastern European folklore-inspired campaigns
- Need a centrepiece encounter location with genuine presence
- Want versatile terrain that doubles as an interior encounter space
- Are building a Feywild, Witchwood, or hag-themed battle map
- Collect display-quality terrain as well as gaming pieces
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to retrieve a stolen soul-jar from Baba Yaga's dwelling — but when they arrive at the clearing, the hut is already moving, its chicken legs carrying it in a slow, deliberate circle as though it knows they are coming. They have until it completes three full rotations to get inside, find the jar, and escape before the door seals shut for a century.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model is modular: the roof and interior body are separate pieces, and the chicken legs are printed separately for ease of assembly. All pieces attach securely with standard miniature glue. The hollow interior makes this usable as an open encounter space when the roof is removed. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming — the detail holds paint and wash beautifully across all surface textures.
