Description
Something between a summoner's mistake and a demon's pet project, the axolotl homunculus greets the world with wide eyes, leathery wings spread wide, and one hand raised — whether in greeting or warning, only it knows.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
There is something deeply unsettling about the axolotl homunculus — and yet you cannot help but look at it. With a smooth, bulbous head, wide blank eyes, and a permanent half-smile that suggests it knows far more than it should, this creature occupies that uncanny space between cute and deeply wrong. Its broad, leathery bat wings are spread wide as if caught mid-reveal, and a cluster of feathered gill-like protrusions crown its head, lending it a strange aquatic quality entirely at odds with its clearly infernal origins.
One arm is raised in a gesture that reads somewhere between a wave and a warning — clawed fingers splayed, the thing appears almost welcoming. The other hand hangs at its side, taloned and ready. Its stocky, vaguely humanoid body is covered in smooth, tightly ridged skin, and its wide, three-toed feet are planted firmly on the base as if it owns whatever room it has just entered. This is a creature from the 2025 Monster Manual, brought to life with excellent sculptural personality — it would make a thoroughly memorable warlock familiar, a low-level fiendish encounter, or a bizarre NPC that leaves the party deeply unsure how to feel.
Whether your adventurers are delving into the Abyss, navigating a warlock's sanctum, or simply encountering something they cannot quite classify, the axolotl homunculus will earn a reaction at the table every single time it hits the battlemat.
This mini suits adventurers who:
- Are running the 2025 Monster Manual and want accurate miniature representation
- Need a warlock familiar that is equal parts endearing and deeply unsettling
- Want a low-level fiend with genuine table presence for a demonic encounter
- Are building a display collection of the stranger corners of D&D's bestiary
- Love a sculpt with personality baked into every line of the pose
Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to investigate a series of thefts from a merchant quarter — small items, nothing valuable, seemingly taken at random. A Perception check on the third night reveals a small winged creature perched on a rooftop, watching them with those blank, wide eyes and one hand raised in that unsettling almost-wave. It's not afraid. It's been sent to assess them. Whether by a warlock, a devil, or something worse is, as yet, entirely unclear.
