Axebeak Mount w/ Mini Slot MM2025 by MZ4250
Description
The ranger's axebeak crouches low, its hooked beak gleaming beneath a fitted iron helm — somewhere between battle-trained and outright dangerous.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The axebeak is one of the great underused mounts of D&D wilderness travel — a flightless predator bird with the temperament of a warhorse and the beak of something that doesn't negotiate. This sculpt brings that energy to the tabletop in full: the bird is shown in a taut, forward-leaning stance, feathers bristling at the flanks, taloned feet gripping the ground. A fitted saddle and bridle harness speak to a beast that has been broken to service, if not entirely tamed. The separate rider piece — a compact armoured figure clutching the saddle — can be mounted in the slot on the bird's back, making this a proper mounted encounter piece rather than a simple creature token.
Whether you're statting up a goblin cavalry skirmish, a ranger's bonded companion, or a bandit outrider patrol, this miniature gives you a visually distinctive centrepiece that reads clearly across the table. It works just as well on a display shelf — the detail in the feathering and the leatherwork harness rewards a careful paint job.
A great addition for adventurers who:
- Run wilderness, grassland, or frontier encounters in D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
- Want a mounted creature that doubles as a genuine display piece
- Are building a cavalry unit, ranger companion, or exotic beast collection
- Love painting feathers, leather tack, and creature armour
Encounter Hook:
The merchant road runs straight through open scrubland — no cover for miles. Three figures on armoured axebeaks have been pacing the party from the ridge line for the past hour, keeping their distance, watching. When the sun drops below the hills, they kick their mounts into a run and the ground starts to shake.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The axebeak comes attached to a round base; the rider piece is separate and slots into the saddle mount on the bird's back. Minor imperfections from the printing process are possible and any residual support marks can be tidied up easily before priming.
