Description

The hunting party had tracked the giant bird for half a day before realising, too late, that it had been tracking them back.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Axebeak is one of the more underused terrors of the wilderness — a flightless predator built for pursuit, with a hooked beak capable of cleaving through leather armour and the temperament to use it without provocation. This sculpt captures the creature mid-stalk: head low, beak angled forward, feathered body tensed as though a charge is imminent. The scaled talons grip the round base with predatory certainty, and every layer of plumage — from the ruffled crest to the fanned tail feathers — is rendered with the kind of detail that rewards a careful paint job.

Whether you're running a wilderness hex-crawl, a Ranger's animal encounter, or a merchant caravan ambush on the Sword Coast roads, the Axebeak brings genuine menace to the table. It works equally well as a trained war-mount for a lizardfolk warband or a feral hazard stalking the party through tall grassland. Equally at home on a display shelf as on a battlemat.

A good fit for adventurers who:

  • Run wilderness, grassland, or savannah encounters in D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
  • Want a mounted creature option for humanoid raiders or tribal warbands
  • Are building a bestiary collection and want the full Monster Manual roster on the table
  • Enjoy painting feathered textures and scaled limbs as a technical painting challenge

Encounter Hook:
The party is three miles from the nearest settlement when the wagon horse screams and bolts — and from the long grass ahead, two sets of eyes catch the torchlight. The Axebeaks haven't eaten in two days, and the party's mule smells like the easiest meal for miles.
