Avatar of Autumn Bust by Witchsong Miniatures
Description
Where the dying season takes a face, it wears this one — hollow-eyed, feather-crowned, and utterly without mercy.
- ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
The Avatar of Autumn is a collector's bust of extraordinary character: a gaunt, avian visage framed by great sweeping feathers that drape like a ceremonial cloak, with smaller textured plumage massed atop the skull like a wild crown. The beak hangs open in a silent cry or ancient pronouncement, and the layered feather detail across the chest and shoulders rewards close inspection and careful brushwork in equal measure. This is not a creature that fights — it presides.
Whether you envision it as a Fey archon heralding the end of the harvest season, a divine herald of a dying god, or an ancient spirit bargained with at a lonely crossroads, this bust carries the weight of lore in every sculpted quill. The ornate stone plinth base grounds the piece with a gothic solidity that suits display shelves as well as painted dioramas. Painters will find exceptional depth here — from the individual feather barbs to the stretched, leathery skin of the throat and neck.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a large-format display bust to showcase advanced painting techniques
- Are building a collection of fantasy creature busts for their shelves
- Need a visually striking NPC, patron, or divine emissary for a Feywild or nature-themed campaign
- Are looking for a characterful centrepiece gift for a fellow painter or DM
Encounter Hook:
The party enters the Amber Grove at dusk, where the trees have shed their leaves in spirals around a stone plinth. Upon it rests no statue — the Avatar of Autumn blinks once, slowly, and speaks: "You come to bargain. Tell me what you are willing to lose."
Details
This is a display bust, scaled as a collector's piece rather than a standard 32mm tabletop miniature. It arrives unpainted and unprimed, mounted on a detailed gothic stone plinth base. Supports are removed prior to dispatch, and each piece is quality checked before it leaves us — though minor surface marks inherent to the printing process may occasionally be present and are easily addressed with light sanding.
