Autognomes are among the most fascinating constructs in the D&D multiverse — gnome-crafted automatons built in their maker's own image, possessing a stubborn spark of personality that refuses to be clockworked out of them. This is pose 1 of our Autognome range, sculpted by The Toadstool Weaver in a gloriously chunky, characterful style: broad-bodied armour plating riveted together with care, a rounded helmet with that distinctively mechanical scowl, one arm raised with a hefty battle-axe cocked and ready, and a large kite shield braced on the other side. There's something both comical and genuinely threatening about this little construct, which makes it a brilliant choice for a wide range of table scenarios.
Whether you're running it as a malfunctioning guardian in a gnomish ruin, a Wildmount-style warforged cousin, or the unlikely player character your Artificer has been dreaming of, this miniature carries enormous personality in its compact frame. The sculpt leans into a stylised, almost cartoon-heroic aesthetic — which paints up brilliantly with metallics, OSL effects, or a quick drybrush for a weathered veteran of forgotten wars. Equally at home on a display shelf as it is on a hex grid.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a construct guardian, malfunctioning automaton, or ancient ruin encounter piece
- Are playing or DMing with an Artificer, and want a sidekick or player character mini that fits
- Want a characterful, stylised miniature that stands out from more realistic sculpts
- Are building a collection of mechanical and construct-type creatures
- Enjoy painting miniatures with metallic schemes, verdigris effects, or battle-worn finishes
Encounter Hook:
The party enters the lowest vault of the Cogsworth family workshop and finds it already occupied. A single autognome stands in the centre of the room, axe raised, shield forward, eyes flickering with a dim blue light. It speaks — one sentence, on a loop: "Intruders will be processed." What it means by "processed" is not immediately clear, and the gnome artificer in the party has just noticed the maker's mark on its chest matches the name on her grandfather's tools.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale here in the UK. Available with or without a plain black display base — the base ships unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Each miniature is printed in high-quality resin, fully cured, and support-free. We do our best to quality-check every piece; minor surface marks are occasionally possible and can be easily cleaned up before priming.

Mitz & Simz — the cats rolled Arcana to understand why humans spend so much time on tiny figures. They failed the check. They stayed anyway.
