Astrid is a ranger built for the long road. Clad in practical half-armour with pauldrons and a belted torso, she sits astride a magnificently sculpted cockatrice-like mount — all scaled hide, hooked talons, crested dragon-skull head, and a sweep of layered feathers at its haunches. Her own kit tells the story of a seasoned traveller: a bedroll lashed behind the saddle, a quiver and scroll case strapped alongside her, and saddlebags packed for weeks in the wilds. She carries herself with the easy confidence of someone who has survived every encounter the world has thrown at her so far.
The sculpt rewards attention from every angle. From the front, Astrid's composed gaze and the beast's raised foreleg give the piece a coiled, ready energy. From the rear, the full saddlepack arrangement and the rider's braided hair make for a richly detailed display piece. This is a miniature that earns its place both on the battlemat and on the shelf.
Available in 32mm scale for tabletop play or 75mm for display painting — and if you need a custom scale, just send us a message and we'll see what we can do.
A great choice for adventurers who:
- Play rangers, scouts, or mounted warriors in D&D or other TTRPGs
- Want a mounted character with a genuinely distinctive, non-horse creature
- Are looking for a centrepiece NPC — a desert outrider, a wandering monster hunter, or a quest-giver with a story written in every strap and buckle
- Paint display-scale miniatures and want a sculpt with serious depth and texture
- Collect character minis that hold up as individual pieces of fantasy art
Encounter Hook:
The party spots a lone rider cresting a dune at dusk — the creature beneath her like nothing they've seen, all scales and feathers and coiled menace. As she draws close, they see the scars on her armour, the maps rolled behind her saddle, and the look in her eye that says she's been tracking something into this desert for a very long time. She reins in her mount and studies them. "You'll do," she says. "I need people who can ride hard and ask questions later."
Each piece is printed to order in 32mm (tabletop scale) or 75mm (display scale). The model arrives unprimed and ready for your brushwork, with support marks cleaned away. As with all hand-finished prints, minor imperfections can occasionally occur — any small blemishes are easily tidied up before painting.
