Description

It did not announce itself. It simply unfolded — robes fraying like smoke, twin blades drawn, wings spread wide enough to blot out the torchlight.

The Ashen Tongue is a creature of terrible elegance. Sculpted at 35mm scale by Great Grimoire, this winged fiend stands poised mid-stride, both arms extended with long tapering blades held low in a duelling stance that speaks of absolute confidence. Its tattered robes billow around an emaciated frame, and its great membrane wings — perforated by decay and stretched taut as old parchment — arc overhead like a cathedral of ruin. A jagged crown of spines erupts from its masked, reptilian skull. The base is thick with curling smoke and ashen debris, grounding the figure in the moment it has stepped through from somewhere it should never have left.

The sculpt is rendered in unpainted grey resin and captured here across three angles — front, rear, and a dramatic overhead view that shows the full wingspan and the dynamic flow of its robes. Every perspective reveals another layer of detail: the hollow joints of the wings, the armoured chest beneath the flowing garments, the cruel precision of those blades. This is a miniature that rewards attention both on the gaming table and on the display shelf.

A fine addition for adventurers who:

  • Need a compelling boss encounter — a summoned blade-dancer from a lower plane
  • Are building an infernal or abyssal themed campaign with named fiend lieutenants
  • Want a centrepiece display miniature that earns its place on any shelf
  • Enjoy a painting project with genuine depth — layered wings, flowing cloth, and detailed armour all waiting for colour

Encounter Hook:
The party's warlock recognises the sigil scorched into the cathedral floor — it is their own patron's mark, used without permission. The Ashen Tongue descends from the vaulted dark above, blades already drawn, speaking in a language that bypasses the ears entirely and lands somewhere behind the eyes: the patron sends their regards.

What's included:
One Ashen Tongue miniature printed at 35mm scale. If you would prefer 32mm scaling, send us a message and we'll do our best to accommodate. A plain black base is included as standard; if you select the decorative base option, please include a note with your order to let us know which of the three base styles you'd like. The base arrives separate and can be attached easily with a small amount of adhesive. Supports are removed before dispatch — while we quality-check every piece, minor marks from the printing process may occasionally be present and are straightforward to tidy up.
