This is pose 01 of the Armoured Manticore range by Novaminis, and it carries every ounce of menace the creature deserves. The sculpt captures the manticore mid-prowl: leonine body low and coiled, bat-like wings spread wide and battle-worn with tears through the membrane, mane bristling with spines, and heavy riveted armour plates strapped across its flanks. The spiked tail fans out behind it in that unmistakable threat display — a warning that comes just before a volley of tail spikes ends someone's adventure early. This is not a creature that was tamed. It was equipped, unleashed, and pointed at a problem.

The sculpt rewards careful painters — the contrast between the rough, plated armour and the organic textures of mane, wing membrane, and clawed feet gives you rich surfaces to work across. Equally at home on a display shelf as it is dominating a D&D encounter tile, this miniature works as a memorable centrepiece for any Dungeon Master running a wilderness, war, or dungeon campaign.

Encounter Hook:
The frontier town of Ashveil has been sending tribute into the hills for three seasons — livestock, coin, sometimes people. When the party finally tracks the extortion to its source, they find not a bandit camp but a scarred mercenary commander with a manticore on a chain — armoured, trained, and very hungry. The chain, they quickly realise, is mostly decorative.

Scaled to 32mm and supplied unpainted, ready for priming and painting straight out of the box. Available with or without a plain black base — the base ships unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue.
