This is no ordinary woodland beast stumbled upon in a random encounter table. The Armoured Brown Bear is a deliberate weapon — plated from snout to haunch in segmented riveted steel, its massive frame encased in what appears to be custom-fitted barding built for a creature that was already terrifying without it. The sculpt captures the bear mid-lunge, jaws stretched wide in a full roar, claws splayed on its oval base. Every panel of armour is articulated with visible rivets and overlapping plates, giving the impression of a warmachine that breathes and bites. This is pose 2 of our Armoured Brown Bear range from MZ4250.
Whether you're running a mercenary warlord who keeps one of these as a shock trooper, a corrupt noble's prized war-beast, or an awakened bear that armoured itself through sheer spite, this miniature does the heavy lifting before a single die is rolled. It works equally well as a centrepiece on the display shelf — the level of sculpted detail in the armour plating rewards a close look and a careful paint job.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Need a physically imposing beast encounter that communicates danger immediately
- Are building a mercenary company, warlord's retinue, or militarised wilderness faction
- Want a beast mini with enough character detail to double as a display piece
- Are working on a ranger companion, druid's ally, or cursed war-beast narrative arc
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to retrieve stolen trade goods from a bandit camp in the Ashfeld Valley — but the briefing said nothing about the camp's enforcer: a full-grown brown bear in fitted iron barding, chained to a post at the camp's centre and very recently unchained by someone who isn't around to explain why.
Supplied as a single piece attached to its oval base, scaled to 32mm. Supports are removed before dispatch. As with all resin printing, minor surface marks are possible — these are easily cleaned up before priming. The model arrives fully cured and ready for paint or immediate table use.
