Description

They said the giant with a thousand eyes had been slain long ago — but the fresh claw marks carved into the gatehouse stone suggest otherwise.

  • ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table

Argus Panoptes is one of mythology's most enduring horrors: a titan of flesh and vigilance, whose body is studded with lidless eyes that never sleep. This sculpt from Witchsong Miniatures captures that dread magnificently — a broad-shouldered giant mid-stride, his torso rippling with those characteristic fleshy eye-pods, wild dreadlocked hair erupting from beneath a crested helm, and a short sword gripped low and ready. His expression is the unhurried confidence of something that has never once been snuck up on. The detailed rocky base adds a genuine sense of weight and presence, and the scale — 80mm — ensures he looms over whatever party dares face him.

Whether you're running a mythologically inspired campaign, a monster-heavy dungeon crawl, or simply want an eye-catching centrepiece for your display shelf, Argus commands the room. He paints up beautifully as a flesh-toned aberration or, for darker settings, works just as well in sickly greens and necrotic purples.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a commanding BBEG or mid-campaign boss encounter
  • Are running myth-inspired or Greek-flavoured D&D campaigns
  • Want a display-scale centrepiece for a collection or painting project
  • Are building a bestiary of monsters that genuinely unsettle their players

Encounter Hook:
The village of Thornmere has been sealed off for six weeks — no one enters, no one leaves, and the miller who tried to flee returned glassy-eyed and silent. The party tracks the cause to a ruined amphitheatre on the hillside above town, where Argus Panoptes has made his lair, and not a soul has passed through the valley without his knowing.

What's included:
This is a display-scale miniature printed at approximately 80mm — intentionally larger than standard 32mm tabletop scale, designed by the artist as a boss or centrepiece character. The scenic base is included and arrives detached for easier painting, ready to be attached with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor surface marks can occasionally occur and are easily cleaned up. The miniature arrives fully cured and ready for priming and painting — or display as-is.
