Description

His hands rise slowly, fingers spread wide, and the air between them hums with barely-contained arcane force — whatever he is about to unleash, your party is not ready for it.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This Archmage miniature from Monster Atlas captures a gaunt, commanding spellcaster mid-incantation — both arms extended, fingers splayed as though channelling a devastating spell. He wears a full-length hooded robe with a layered capelet fastened at the collar, the fabric sculpted with deep, sweeping folds that give a real sense of weight and motion. His expression is cold and focused beneath the low-drawn hood, with sharp features and a trimmed beard that read immediately as someone who has spent decades mastering forces that could level cities.

Three sculpt variants are available, each capturing a slightly different pose in the moment of casting. This listing covers all three: the first with both arms raised symmetrically, the second leaning forward with one hand extended directly toward the viewer in a pointing gesture, and the third in a more dynamic twisted stance with the cloak swept back. All three share the same robed silhouette and gaunt authority — the variation is in the energy of the pose, from controlled to aggressive to theatrical. Collect one or all three to represent different stages of a spellcasting sequence.

The sculpt works equally well as a BBEG mastermind — an archmage pulling strings behind a cult or cabal — or as a powerful wizard NPC who may be ally or adversary depending on your campaign. The lack of overtly evil iconography keeps him ambiguous enough to serve either role. For players running a Wizard or Sorcerer character with a sinister or morally grey flavour, these poses also make excellent player character stand-ins.

Suits adventurers who:

  • Need a compelling spellcaster BBEG for a magic-focused campaign arc
  • Are running a cult or arcane conspiracy and want a figurehead model
  • Play a Wizard, Sorcerer, or Warlock and want a miniature that reads power and menace
  • Want a high-detail robe-and-hood caster for a Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or urban intrigue setting
  • Are building a display piece around a classic arcane antagonist aesthetic

Encounter Hook

The party finally reaches the upper chamber of the Obsidian Spire. At the far end of the room, standing before a constellation of floating arcane sigils, a robed figure turns — unhurried, unsurprised. "I expected you three sessions ago," he says, and raises both hands.
