The Arcane Blaster is a compact but unmistakably threatening automated turret — part enchanted watchtower, part magical artillery piece. A cylindrical stone-and-timber body rises from a bolted mechanical base, topped with a spiked parapet and a conical spire. Set into the housing is a faceted hexagonal arcane gem, glowing with latent magical energy, while the mounted gatling-style barrel assembly juts from the side — a rotating multi-barrel cannon clearly designed to unleash volleys of arcane force at anything that dares approach. This is not decorative architecture. This is a weapon wearing a building's clothes.
Whether you're running a gnomish workshop, a Artificer's fortified compound, a magically defended keep, or a dungeon room with a genuinely nasty surprise, the Arcane Blaster drops immediately into your scene and tells your players something has gone very wrong. Equally at home on a collector's shelf as it is on a battle map, this sculpt rewards a careful paint job — the gem casing, barrel tips, and bolt-plate base all offer satisfying detail for brushwork.
Brilliant for adventurers who:
- Run encounters in arcane workshops, gnomish labs, or artificer strongholds
- Need an automated turret or magical construct as an interactive encounter object
- Want objective markers with genuine threat presence on the battlefield
- Enjoy painting mechanically complex scatter terrain with strong focal details
- Are building a display diorama with a magical-industrial aesthetic
Encounter Hook:
The party enters the abandoned Artificer's vault to find the automated defence systems still very much active — and the Arcane Blaster in the centre of the room has already begun rotating its barrels toward the door. Roll for initiative.
