Description

By the flickering light of a single candle, a small amphibian scholar turns another page — and somewhere in the margins, scrawled in a cramped hand, is the spell that will change everything.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This delightful sculpt from La Louve 3D depicts an axolotl apprentice wizard mid-study: seated comfortably, one clawed hand pressing open a hefty tome, the other holding aloft a dripping candle to better read by. Stacks of well-thumbed books surround the little scholar, and those characteristic feathery gill-plumes frame an expression of wide-eyed, earnest concentration. It is a character full of personality — the sort of creature that belongs in a wizard's tower library, a Feywild academy, or the back corner of a peculiar magical shop.

Whether you're introducing a charming NPC sage, building out a Feywild encounter, or simply want a characterful piece for your display shelf, this mini brings warmth and wit to any setting. The sculpt is packed with fine detail — individual book spines, candle drips, and the wonderfully textured skin of the axolotl itself — making it a genuinely rewarding piece to paint.

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Want a memorable Feywild NPC or magical familiar-adjacent creature
  • Are running an arcane academy, wizard's tower, or scholarly mystery arc
  • Need a quirky, loveable NPC that players will immediately want to protect
  • Collect characterful fantasy miniatures for display as well as play

Encounter Hook:
The party follows a trail of arcane disturbances to a cramped room deep within the Verdant Archive — a Feywild library older than any kingdom. Surrounded by hovering books and a dangerously tall candle, they find the source of the disruption: a small axolotl apprentice who has accidentally summoned something from the margins of a text they absolutely were not supposed to be reading. They look up. They look very apologetic. The something is still coming.

Details

This miniature is printed at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are supplied as separate pieces and can be joined with a small amount of glue — note that some sculpts interact closely with their base, so the base is well worth including. The mini arrives ready for priming and painting, or display as cast.
