The Apparition is no ordinary undead. This sculpt depicts a gaunt, skeletal-faced entity wearing a jagged crown, its torso erupting from a writhing, tumorous coil of fleshy matter — more visceral horror than ethereal ghost. One arm reaches forward with grasping, claw-tipped fingers; the other curls in a gesture of dark command. A sweeping cloak billows behind the figure, adding dramatic motion to a pose that feels caught mid-manifestation. This is something ancient, something that was once a ruler or a sorcerer, and has returned wearing the ruin of what it used to be.
Whether you use this as a powerful named undead, a lich's herald, a boss encounter in a haunted palace, or the physical manifestation of a curse your players have been unravelling for sessions — the Apparition carries the kind of visual weight that makes players sit up straighter when you place it on the table. It works equally well as a centrepiece for display collectors who appreciate horror-tinged fantasy sculpts.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a visually distinctive undead boss or elite monster for their campaign
- Are running gothic horror, Ravenloft, or cursed-royalty storylines
- Want a display piece that holds its own on any collector's shelf
- Are building a necromancer's court or an undead warband with real character
Encounter Hook:
The party was sent to retrieve the signet ring of the old king — but when they prise open the sarcophagus in the heart of the sunken palace, the Apparition rises from within, still wearing its shattered crown, still recognising its ancient seal. It doesn't attack immediately. It holds out its hand and asks, in a voice like crumbling stone, who sent them.
