This is pose 02 of our Apostle of the Faceless King range from Witchsong Miniatures. Where the first pose might suggest a figure in command, this one is caught mid-ritual: one arm thrust skyward, cold spectral fire curling from an outstretched hand, the other gripping a towering corrupted staff crowned with a spiralling nautilus-like finial. He wears heavy layered robes over ornate armour, a wolf or daemon motif visible at the chest, and atop his head — unsettlingly — a tall carved reliquary box in place of a face. The detail on this sculpt rewards a painter who enjoys contrast work: the smooth wood-grain of the head-box against the ragged fraying of the robes, the organic chaos of the staff against the rigid ceremony of the pose.

He works equally well as a cult leader, a warlock boss, a herald of an elder god, or a recurring villain who survives the first encounter and becomes a long-running thorn in the party's side. Pair him with other cultist miniatures to build a full congregation, or place him alone at the centre of a ritual scene for maximum atmospheric dread.

A great fit for adventurers who:

  • Are running cults, elder god cults, or far realm–adjacent story arcs
  • Need a memorable BBEG lieutenant or recurring villain NPC
  • Want a warlock or sorcerer PC mini with genuine menace
  • Collect display miniatures with strong lore presence

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the village shrine to find it empty — every icon smashed, every candle cold. Then they hear the chanting from below. Descending through a trapdoor, they emerge into a torchlit vault where the Apostle stands at the centre of a twelve-point star, one hand raised toward a crack in the ceiling that shouldn't be there and is, unmistakably, getting wider.
